Nod to a multi-level parking lot at Feroze Gandhi market

Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) has approved the detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed multi-level car parking project at Feroze Gandhi Market. The proposed project was in the pipeline for the past few years as there were major parking issues at the market.

The approval was given at the 31st meeting of the city-level technical subcommittee under the chairmanship of chief executive officer of the LSCL, Sanyam Aggarwal, was held on Thursday. Aggarwal the same, “The DPR of the multi-level car parking project at Feroze Gandhi Market has been approved today. It will be sent to the higher authorities for vetting.”

Meanwhile, members of the Feroze Gandhi Market Association have written to the director, smart cities, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.

The market association president, PS Gill, said, “There should be no basement in the project to avoid any kind of water seepage. I have written to the director requesting him to revise the multi-level parking lot project. It should be without a basement.”

“The LSCL should plan for just two-three story parking lot with access for physically challenged and easy gradient of stairs to cater to elders and persons with a knee problem. These suggestions if taken into account will save money to be spent on the project,” he added.

The LSCL has also approved technical bid evaluation reports and financial bid for the construction of the animal birth control center in the city. Aggarwal same, “Approval has additionally been given for the money bid of the facade lighting on the long-lasting tower within the town.”

“The LSCL has also given a green signal for the renovation of the old sewer system along Malhar Road,” he added.
